Student Dress Code 


Requirements:

Tops

  • Solid color, collared, polo-styled shirts
  • Any logos on shirts must be smaller than the size of a quarter
  • Polos must be buttoned so that undershirts and/or skin are not visible
  • Chest, back, and stomach areas must be fully covered
  • Jackets must be a zippered style and must be of a solid color with no writing, symbols, or logos larger than the size of a quarter; jackets can be zipped up  
  • Pullover hoodies are NOT permitted at any time
  • Writing on clothing of any type is not permitted 

Bottoms

  • No jeans are allowed
  • Bottoms must be black, navy blue, or khaki
  • Pants must be worn without ripped or torn areas; no exceptions, even if there are garments underneath 
  • Pants must be worn at the waist
  • Pants and shorts must have a button and/or zipper; no elastic waistbands or pull-on pants (joggers)
  • Shorts must be worn at or below the knee
  • Leggings can be worn under a skirt or shorts that extend at or below the knee
  • Dresses must have collars or sleeves, and be worn at or below the knee
  • Gym shorts or sweatpants are permitted during gym, but at no other time
  • Writing on clothing of any type is not permitted 

Other Apparel

  • Closed-toed shoes only; Open-toed shoes, slides, Crocs, and slippers are not permitted.
  • Haircuts with shaved designs are at the discretion of the Administration
  • Eyebrows should be free of any cuts or shaved designs
  • Headbands are permitted as long as they do not cause a substantial disruption to the learning environment
  • Hats are not permitted, except with special permission during gym or outdoor activities

The following are NOT permitted at any time

  • Body art or tattoos (including temporary, Henna, and stickers)
  • Writing on skin or clothing
  • Intentionally altered clothing, including rolled-up pants and shorts, glued pants and shorts, or any other modifications to clothing, is not permitted
  • Sweatshirts or long-sleeved clothing are not permitted over or under polos
  • Long, hanging necklaces or chain belts that cause a distraction or a safety issue
  • Any piercing to the tongue, lip, and/or exposed body part, other than the ear, is not permitted. Only nose studs are permitted; no hoops or dangling nose piercings are permitted.
  • Hair picks, hair combs, and headphones of any type
  • Toys, such as stuffed animals, party poppers, toy guns or anything that may distract from the learning environment, are at the discretion of the Administrative Team

Students who do not arrive at school meeting this dress code policy will have the opportunity to contact a parent or guardian for a change of clothes.  Students waiting for parents to bring a change of clothes or students who refuse to change into the appropriate dress code will be housed in the ATS or ISS room, with possible disciplinary action.
